At 5:00 am today, the center of Subtropical Storm Nicole was located near latitude 25.5 degrees north, longitude 68.5 degrees west or about 555 miles or 895 kilometres east of the northwestern Bahamas. A tropical storm watch has been issued for the northwestern Bahamas. This system does not pose a threat to our region.

An area of low pressure located over the central north Atlantic has a medium chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next 5 days. This system is also not expected to pose a threat to our region.
