At 11:00 pm last night, the remnants of Tropical Depression Wilfred were located near latitude 15.9 degrees north, longitude 47.4 degrees west or about 925 miles or 1490 kilometres east of the Lesser Antilles.  The remnants are moving toward the west near 17 mph or 28 km/h and this general motion should continue during the next day or two. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph or 55 km/h with higher gusts however, winds should continue to decrease over the next couple of days.

At 11:00 am today, the centre of Tropical Depression Wilfred was located near latitude 15.7 degrees north, longitude 44.2 degrees west or about 1135 miles or 2160 kilometres east of the Lesser Antilles. The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 20 mph or 31 km/h. Winfred should slow its forward speed while heading towards the west or west northwest for the next few days until dissipation.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph or 55 km/h, with higher gusts. Winfred should weaken to a remnant low within a couple of days.

At 5:00 am today, the centre of Tropical Storm Wilfred was located near latitude 15.0 degrees north, longitude 42.0 degrees west or about 1285 miles or 2070 kilometres east of the Lesser Antilles. Wilfred is moving toward the west-northwest near 16 mph or 26 km/h. A turn toward the west with a slight decrease in forward speed is expected by tonight.

Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph or 65 km/h, with higher gusts. Weakening is anticipated, and Wilfred is expected to dissipate as soon as later today.

Tropical Storm Wilfred is not expected to pose a threat to our region.
