An area of low pressure is expected to develop from a tropical wave located in the vicinity of the Greater Antilles. This system is likely to become a tropical depression within the next couple of days.

Humberto is moving toward the northwest near 8 mph or 13 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph or 85 km/h with higher gusts. Humberto is expected to become a hurricane in a day or so and a major hurricane this weekend. Tropical storm Humberto is not expected to affect the Lesser Antilles.
