FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Partly cloudy, occasionally becoming cloudy with scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A tropical wave located several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h. This wave is expected to affect the region tonight into tomorrow. A large, disorganized area of showers and thunderstorms has developed on the northern portion of this wave. Some slow development of this system is possible during the next 5 days while it moves slowly northwestward.

Another tropical wave located over the far eastern tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h.  This wave has the potential to become a tropical depression early next week while it moves westward across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic Ocean.

At 5:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Storm Gabrielle was located near latitude 23.4 North, longitude 35.9 West. Gabrielle is moving toward the northwest near 10 mph or 17 km/h over the open Atlantic Ocean, and does not

pose a threat to the Lesser Antilles.
