TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Moisture and instability in the lower atmosphere around the Eastern Caribbean region will cause some showery periods and possibly isolated thunderstorms over the islands during the next 24 hours.

At 5:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Storm Sebastien was located near latitude 20.6 North, longitude 59.7 West, at about 275 miles or 445 kilometers northeast of the Leeward islands. Sebastien is moving toward the northwest near 12 mph or 19 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph or 75 km/h with higher gusts.

Sebastien is forecast to remain over the open Atlantic Ocean and is not expected to pose a direct threat to our region.

A tropical wave located over the central tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 10 mph or 17 km/h.
