TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A relatively dry and stable atmosphere over the Eastern Caribbean region, will result in mostly fair weather conditions over the Lesser Antilles, during the next 24 hours.

Saharan dust haze in varying concentrations will impact visibility and air quality across the region, during the forecast period.

At 5:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Leslie was located near latitude 23.9 north, longitude 50.9 west. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 70 mph or 110 km/h, with higher gusts. Leslie is expected to continue moving away from the Lesser Antilles and does not pose a threat to our region.

A tropical wave located over the central Tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h.

Another tropical wave has emerged off the west coast of Africa and is moving westward near 21 mph or 33 km/h. This system has a low chance of tropical cyclone development, during the next several days.
