A light wind regime is expected across the Lesser Antilles, during the next few days.

At 5:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Storm Joyce was located near latitude 22.2 north, longitude 49.2 west. Joyce is moving toward the northwest near 6 mph or 9 km/h. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 40 mph or 65 km/h, with higher gusts. Some weakening is forecast and Joyce is expected to become a depression on Monday and a remnant low on Tuesday. Joyce is not expected to pose a threat to our region.  

Tropical Depression Twelve forms over the central Tropical Atlantic. At 5:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Depression Twelve was located near latitude 13.8 north, longitude 32.5 west. The depression is moving toward the west near 9 mph or 15 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph or 55 km/h, with higher gusts.  Strengthening is forecast and the depression could become a hurricane by Wednesday. This system does not pose a threat to our region at this time.

A tropical wave located near the coast of western Africa is currently producing limited shower and thunderstorm activity.  Some gradual development of this system is possible during the next several days, while it moves slowly westward over the eastern Tropical Atlantic.

This system is moving westward near 8 mph or 13 km/h and has a high chance of tropical cyclone development during the next 7 days.

Another tropical wave located near the coast of western Africa is currently producing limited shower activity.  Some gradual development of this system is possible during the next several days while it moves slowly westward over the eastern Atlantic Ocean.
