FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Over the southernmost portion of the Lesser Antilles it will be cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Further north, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a few showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms from tomorrow.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A tropical wave located just east of the Lesser Antilles, together with a trough system is expected to cause an increase in cloudiness, showers and isolated thunderstorms over the region from tomorrow. The Inter-Tropical Convergent Zone (ITCZ), will continue to produce cloudiness, showers and isolated thunderstorms over the extreme southern portion of the region during the next 24 hours.

A broad area of low pressure located about 1085 miles or 1746 kilometers east-southeast of Saint Lucia, continues to produce a concentrated area of showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions remain favorable for development, and a tropical depression is likely to form during the next day or two while the system moves west-northwestward at about 17 mph or 28 km/h.This system is expected to reach our region by late Friday or early Saturday. Interests in the Lesser Antilles should closely monitor the progress of this disturbance.

Another tropical wave located over the Eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h.
