FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Over the Grenadines southward to Trinidad and Tobago, it will be generally cloudy with some showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms. Elsewhere, it will be generally fair and hazy with a few showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Saharan dust will continue to cause a reduction in visibility and air quality across the Eastern Caribbean region over the next couple of days.

Moisture and instability associated with the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), will cause some cloudy spells with showers and isolated thunderstorms over the extreme southern section of our region during the next 24 hours.

A weak tropical wave located a few hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles is moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h. This system is not expected to cause significant rainfall during its passage over the islands.

Two other tropical waves located over the central and eastern Tropical Atlantic are moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h. 
 

At 5:00 am today, the centre of Tropical Depression Ten was located near latitude 17.3 degrees north, longitude 49.8 degrees west or about 790 miles east of the Leeward Islands. The depression is moving toward the north near 10 mph or 17 km/h. This system is expected to remain over the open Atlantic and not pose a threat to the Eastern Caribbean region.
