TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
A strong tropical wave associated with a broad area of low pressure, will continue to produce a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms mainly over the southern Windward Islands, during the forecast period. Satellite-derived wind data and radar images indicate that this system does not yet have a well-defined circulation center. However, environmental conditions are likely to become more conducive for development, and a tropical depression is likely to form over the next several days, if the system remains over open waters. Regardless of development, heavy rainfall with localized flooding, as well as gusty winds are expected over portions of the Windward Islands.
The Saint Lucia Met. Services will continue to closely monitor the progress of this system.
At 11:00 am today, the centre of Tropical Depression Twelve was located near latitude 15.6 degrees north, longitude 32.0 degrees west. The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph or 15 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph or 55 km/h, with higher gusts. Tropical Depression Twelve is expected to become a remnant low by Thursday.
