Partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Leeward and northern Windward Islands. Further south, generally fair skies, with possible isolated showers.
Light winds will continue across the Lesser Antilles over the next two days.
Moisture and instability associated with Hurricane Lee, will cause some cloudy periods with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly over the Leeward and northern Windward Islands during the next 24 hours. Swells generated by Lee will cause hazardous sea conditions around the Leeward Islands during the next few days.
At 5:00 am today, the centre of Hurricane Lee was located near latitude 21.4 North, longitude 60.5 West or about 280 miles or 450 kilometres northeast of the northern Leeward Islands. Lee is moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph or 15 km/h, and a slower motion is this direction is expected during the next few days. Maximum sustained winds are near 105 mph or 165 km/h, with higher gusts. On the forecast track, Lee is expected to pass well north of the northern Leeward Islands into early next week. Interests in the northern Leeward Islands should continue to monitor the progress of Lee.
A tropical wave located over the far eastern tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 9 mph or 15 km/h. This wave has a low chance of development during the next 7 days.
