Cloudy to overcast at times, with moderate to heavy showers, gusty winds and thunderstorms over the Leeward Islands. Elsewhere, partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
Unstable conditions associated with Tropical Storm Ernesto, will continue to affect the Lesser Antilles, during the forecast period.

At 11:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Ernesto was located near latitude 16.9 North, longitude 62.6 West or 155 miles or 250 km east-southeast of St Croix. Ernesto is moving toward the west-northwest near 18 mph or 30 km/h and this general motion is expected to continue through tonight. Maximum sustained winds speed has increased to near 50 mph or 85 km/h, with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is forecast and Ernesto is expected to become a hurricane by early Wednesday. The center of Ernesto should pass near the Virgin Islands this evening and northeast to north of Puerto Rico, tonight or tomorrow. Ernesto is then forecast to turn northward over the western Atlantic.
A hurricane warning has been issued for the U.S and British Virgin Islands. Tropical storm warnings remain in effect for the Leeward Islands, Guadeloupe, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

A tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 12 mph or 19 km/h.
