TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Light to moderate easterly winds from the Atlantic High-Pressure System will bring a few showers to the Eastern Caribbean over the next couple of days.

Visibility and air quality in the region will be reduced over the next few days due to Saharan dust haze.

At 11:00 am today, Tropical Storm Erin was located about latitude 17.2 North, longitude 36.3 West over the far eastern Tropical Atlantic or about 1663 miles east-northeast of Saint Lucia. Erin has maximum sustained winds of 45 mph and is moving west at 23 mph. On Erin’s current track, residents in the northern Leeward Islands should monitor the progress of system, as it could become a hurricane later this week.
