Partly cloudy becoming cloudy at times, with some scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms over the Windward Islands and areas further south. Over the Leeward Islands, fair to partly cloudy with a few showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A low-level trough will cause periods of cloudiness, showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms over the southern half of the Lesser Antilles, during the next 24 hours. Low-level clouds moving with the wind flow, will cause a few showers over the northern portion of the region, during the forecast period.

At 11:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Erin was located near latitude 16.3 North, longitude 43.4 West or about 1156 miles or 1860 km east-northeast of St. Lucia. Erin is moving toward the west near 17 mph or 28 km/h. This general motion is expected into Thursday, with a west-northwestward motion beginning Thursday night and continuing into the weekend. On the forecast track, the center of Erin is likely to move near or just north of the northern Leeward Islands over the weekend. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph or 75 km/h with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is forecast to begin later today or tonight, and Erin is expected to become a hurricane by Friday.

A tropical wave located over the far eastern tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 12 mph or 19 km/h.
