Fair skies becoming occasionally cloudy with a few showers and a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms across parts of the region.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A low-level trough is expected to cause periods of cloudiness and showers across the northern and southern Lesser Antilles. Isolated thunderstorm activity is also possible over the southern half of the Lesser Antilles this afternoon.

At 5:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Erin was located near latitude 16.3 North, longitude 48.2 West or about 842 miles or 1355 km east-northeast of St. Lucia. Erin is moving toward the west near 17 mph or 28 km/h with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph. The storm is expected to strengthen and could pass near or north of the northern Leeward Islands this weekend. A turn to the west-northwest is expected to begin tonight. Interests in the northern Leeward Islands should monitor the progress of this storm.

A tropical wave located over the far eastern tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h.
