FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES
Fair to partly cloudy, with a few showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Unstable conditions will cause a few showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms over the Lesser Antilles, during the forecast period.

At 5:00 pm today, the center Tropical Storm Gabrielle was located near latitude 20.8° north, longitude 52.7° west or about 700 miles or 1125 kilometers east-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands and 720 miles or 1159 kilometers northeast of Saint Lucia. Gabrielle is moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph or 20 km/h. Maximum sustained winds remain near 50 mph or 85 km/h, with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 24 hours but some gradual intensification is forecast shortly thereafter. On the forecast track, Gabrielle is not expected to pose a direct threat to our region.

A tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h.

Another tropical wave is forecast to move off the west coast of Africa by Friday morning.  Some slow development of this system is possible within the next 7 days.
