FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES
Occasionally cloudy skies with widely scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the northern Windward and Leeward Islands. Elsewhere, fair to partly cloudy with a few showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

An area of low pressure is expected to develop from a tropical wave located in the vicinity of the Greater Antilles. This system is likely to become a tropical depression within the next couple of days.

At 11:00 am today, the centre of Tropical storm Humberto was located near Latitude 21.4 degrees north…longitude 56.8 degrees west or about 600 miles or 965 kilometres northeast of Saint Lucia. Humberto is moving toward the northwest near 8 mph or 13 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph or 85 km/h with higher gusts. Humberto is expected to become a hurricane in a day or so and a major hurricane this weekend. Tropical storm Humberto is not expected to affect the Lesser Antilles.

A tropical wave located over the central Tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h.
