TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
Rainbands and sea swells associated with Tropical Storm Jerry will affect the Lesser Antilles during the forecast period.
Tropical Storm Warnings and Watches have been issued for the Leeward Islands and Guadeloupe.
At 11:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Jerry was located near latitude 15.9 North, longitude 59.1 West or about 182 miles or 294 kilometres northeast of St. Lucia. Jerry is moving toward the west-northwest near 18 mph or 30 km/h. A turn toward the northwest is expected late today, followed by a slightly slower northward motion on Friday and Saturday. On the forecast track, the center of Jerry is expected to pass near or to the northeast of the northern Leeward Islands later today and tonight. Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph or 100 km/h with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is forecast during the next few days, and Jerry could become a hurricane by late Friday or Saturday.
A tropical wave located over the eastern tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 23 mph or 37 km/h.
