TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
The Atlantic High-Pressure System will maintain moderate to brisk easterly winds across the region during the next couple of days. Weak unstable conditions will support some showers over the Lesser Antilles, during the forecast period.

The 13th tropical storm of the season forms over the central Caribbean Sea.
At 11:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Melissa was located near latitude 14.3 north, longitude 71.7 west or about 300 miles or 480 kilometers south of Port Au Prince Haiti. Melissa is moving toward the west near 14 mph or 22 km/h. On this forecast track, Melissa is expected to approach the southwestern portion of Haiti and Jamaica later this week. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h), with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is expected over the next few days.

Two other tropical waves located over the central and eastern Tropical Atlantic are moving westward near 12 and 8 mph or 19 and 15 km/h, respectively.
