Generally cloudy with scattered moderate to heavy showers, gusty winds and isolated thunderstorms over the central Windward Islands and areas futher north. Elsewhere, partly cloudy skies becoming cloudy at times with a few brief showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Moisture and instability associated with Tropical Storm Philippe, will continue to cause scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the northern half of the region during the next 24 hours.

At 5:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Philippe was located near latitude 17.1 degrees North, longitude 60.0 degrees West or about 120 miles or 200 kilometers east of Barbuda. Philippe is moving toward the northwest near 7 mph or 11 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph or 85 km/h, with higher gusts. On the forecast track, the center of Philippe is expected to pass near or just northeast of the northern Leeward Islands later today and tonight.

A tropical storm watch is in effect for Antigua and Barbuda. Interests in the northern Leeward Islands should monitor the progress of this system.

A tropical wave located over the central Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 8 mph or 13 km/h.
