Moisture and instability in the wake of a tropical wave, will continue to cause occasional cloudiness with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly over the southern half of the Lesser Antilles, during the next 24 hours.
…JOYCE BECOMES BETTER ORGANIZED AND STRENGTHENS…
At 5:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Storm Joyce was located near latitude 18.6 north, longitude 44.0 west. Maximum sustained winds are now near 50 mph or 85 km/h, with higher gusts. Joyce is moving toward the northwest near 13 mph or 20 km/h and a west-northwest to northwest motion is expected during the next couple of days. Joyce is expected to remain over the open waters of the Atlantic and poses no threat to our region at this time.
A tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 12 mph or 19 km/h.
