TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
The Atlantic High-Pressure System will become the dominant weather feature across the region. However, moisture and instability ahead of an approaching tropical wave will cause some cloudiness and showers over portions of the Lesser Antilles, during the forecast period.
A tropical wave located over the western Tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h. This wave is expected to affect our region from late tonight into tomorrow.
Another tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 20 mph or 31 km/h. Gradual development of this wave is possible and a tropical depression could form during the latter part of the week.

At 5:00 am today, the eye of Hurricane Erin was located near latitude 22.8 North, longitude 70.2 West. Erin is moving toward the northwest and further away from our region near 13 mph or 20 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 130 mph or 215 km/h, with higher gusts.
