of isolated thunderstorms.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Moisture and instability in the lower atmosphere around the Eastern Caribbean

region will cause some showery periods and possibly isolated thunderstorms

over the islands during the next 24 hours.

At 5:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Sebastien was located near latitude 21.0 North, longitude 61.0 West, or about 235 miles or 380 kilometers northeast of the northern Leeward islands. Sebastien is moving toward the northwest near 8 mph or 13 km/h. A turn to the north northwest and north is expected later today. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 mph or 85 km/h with higher gusts.

Sebastien is forecast to remain over the open Atlantic Ocean and is not expected to pose a direct threat to our region.

A tropical wave located over the central tropical Atlantic is moving westward

near 10 mph or 17 km/h.
