FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES
Cloudy to overcast at times with moderate to heavy showers, isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds over the Leeward Islands and northern Windward Islands. Elsewhere, breezy with skies cloudy and at times with some scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms.
TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
The atmosphere over the Eastern Caribbean continues to be sufficiently moist and unstable to produce scattered showers, gusty winds and isolated thunderstorms across parts of the region. A gradual improvement is expected the system continues to move away from the islands and into the Caribbean Seas.
The Atlantic High pressure system will gradually influence more stable and drier conditions across the region during the next few days.
Another tropical wave located over the central Tropical Atlantic continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Some minor fluctuations strength is anticipated over the next few days, after which it could encounter strong upper-level winds, decreasing its chances of further development. The system is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h, across the central Tropical Atlantic.
A third tropical wave located over the far eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h.
Interests in Saint Lucia and the rest of the region should closely monitor the progress of these systems.
