TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Moisture and instability left in the wake of Tropical Storm Dorian will continue to generate cloudiness, showers and possibly thunderstorms over Northern portion of the Eastern Caribbean Islands during the next 24 hours.

At 5:00 pm today, the center of Hurricane Dorian was located near latitude 18.5 north, longitude 65.5 west or about 45 miles or 70 kilometers northwest of St. Thomas. Dorian is moving toward the northwest near 14 mph or 22 km/h, and this motion is expected to continue during the next few days.

A tropical wave located over the central Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h.Saharan dry air prevails in the wave’s environment at this time.
