TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
Moisture and instability in the lower atmosphere over the Eastern Caribbeanregion will continue to cause some showery periods and possibly isolated thunderstorms over the islands during the next 24 hours.
At 5:00 am today, the centre of Tropical Storm Sebastien was located near latitude 24.8 North, longitude 57.0 West, or about 600 miles or 965 kilometres north northeast of the northern Leeward Islands. Sebastien is moving toward the east-northeast near 15 mph or 24 km/h. An east-northeast to northeast motion is expected during the next few days. Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph or 95 km/h with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is expected, and Sebastien is forecast to become a post-tropical cyclone this weekend.
Sebastien is forecast to remain over the open Atlantic Ocean and is not expectedto pose a direct threat to our region.
