Sea swells generated by Tropical storm Paulette will cause locally rough seas across the region.

At 5:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Paulette was located near

latitude 23.1 degrees north, longitude 51.7 degrees west or about 1305 kilometers east-northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands. Paulette is moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph or 15 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph or 100 km/h with higher gusts.

…… Tropical Storm Rene……

At 5:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Rene was located over the central

tropical Atlantic near latitude 19.7 degrees north and longitude 38.5 degrees

west. Rene is moving toward the west-northwest near 10 mph or 17 km/h. Maximum

sustained winds are near 45 mph or 75 km/h.

Neither of these two systems are expected to pose a direct threat to the Lesser Antilles.

A tropical wave located over the far eastern tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 14 mph or 22 km/h. A tropical depression is expected to form within the next few days. There is a high chance of this system developing into a tropical storm within the next five days.
