FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Generally cloudy and hazy with some scattered light to moderate showers, over the Windward Islands and areas further south. Elsewhere, partly cloudy and hazy becoming cloudy at times with a few scattered showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Moisture and instability in the atmosphere over the central and southern parts of our region, will continue to cause cloudiness and showers over those islands during the forecast period.

An upper level trough and jet stream will cause a few scattered showers over the remainder of the region during the next 24 hours.

Saharan dust haze will cause a reduction in visibility and air quality around our region during the forecast period.

Two tropical waves located over the central and eastern Tropical Atlantic are moving westward near 15 and 17 mph or 24 and 28 km/h, respectively.

Tropical cyclone formation is not expected over the Tropical Atlantic during the next five days.

The alert level at the La Soufriere volcano in Saint Vincent remains at Orange. Interests in Saint Lucia and the South-Eastern Caribbean region are advised to continue monitoring official sources for updates.
