FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Over the southern Lesser Antilles, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.  Elsewhere fair to partly cloudy skies with a few showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK  

Moisture and instability associated with the passage of a tropical wave, will continue produce increased periods of cloudiness, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly over the southern portion of our region, during the forecast period.

Another tropical wave associated with a weak low pressure area, is located over the far eastern Tropical Atlantic. There a very low chance of further development of this system over the next five days as it moves westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h.

At 5:00 am today, the centre of Hurricane Larry was located near latitude 14.6 degrees north, longitude 38.9 degrees west. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 90 mph or 150 km/h, with higher gusts. Larry is moving toward the west-northwest near 20 mph or 31 km/h and this motion is expected during the next few days. Larry is not expected to pose a direct threat to our region during the next five days.
