Partly cloudy skies, becoming cloudy at times with some scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Moist and unstable conditions trailing Hurricane Fiona, will continue to affect the northern portion of the Lesser Antilles during the next 24 hours.

Hurricane and tropical storm warnings and watches are in effect for the U.S and British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, the Turks and Caicos Islands and the southeastern Bahamas.

At 11:00 am today, the center of Hurricane Fiona was located near latitude 19.1 North, longitude 69.2 West or 10 miles or 15 kilometres southeast of Samana, Dominican Republic. Fiona is moving toward the northwest near 8 mph or 13 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are 85 mph or 140 km/h. Strengthening is forecast during the next few days and Fiona is forecast to become a major hurricane by Wednesday.

A tropical wave located over the western Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 kn/h. This wave is expected to affect our region tomorrow.

Another tropical waves located over the central Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 20 mph or 31 km/h.
