TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
Moist and unstable conditions associated with the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), will continue to affect the Windward Islands and areas further south during the forecast period.
A broad area of low pressure located over the central Tropical Atlantic is moving slowly north-northwestward. This system has a high chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next five days.
A tropical wave is located just off the west coast of Africa and is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h.
At 11:00 am today, the centre of Hurricane Ian was located near latitude 23.0 north, longitude 83.5 west. Ian is moving toward the north at 10 mph or 17 km/h. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 115 mph or 185 km/h, with higher gusts.
