FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Generally cloudy with scattered showers, periods of rain and isolated thunder-storms over the southern Leeward Islands and areas further south. Over the northern Leewards, fair to partly cloudy with a few showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A surface trough will continue to cause cloudiness, showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms over most of the Lesser Antilles during the forecast period.

A tropical wave located several hundred miles east of the Windward Islands, has a medium chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next five days. This wave is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h and is expected to affect our region from late Wednesday. The Saint Lucia Met. Services is closely monitoring the progress of this wave.

An area of low pressure associated with another tropical wave located over the central Tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 6 mph or 9 km/h. This system has a high chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next 5 days.
