FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Fair to occasionally cloudy with a few scattered showers over the Leeward and northern Windward Islands. Further south, partly cloudy to cloudy with widely scattered showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A light and variable wind regime is expected across the Lesser Antilles during the next few days.

Moisture and instability associated with an area of low pressure located just east of the Leeward Islands, will continue to cause occasional cloudiness and showers over the northern half of the Lesser Antilles during the next 24 hours.

The Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone will cause cloudy conditions and scattered showers over the southern portion of our region during the forecast period.

At 5:00 pm today, the centre of Tropical Storm Franklin was located near latitude 19.8 North, Longitude 70.6 west or near the northern border of central Hispaniola. Franklin is moving toward the north northeast near 13 mph or 20 km/h. Franklin does not pose a threat to the Lesser Antilles.

A low pressure system associated with a tropical wave located over the central Tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 12 mph or 19 km/h. This system has a low chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next seven days.
