Fair to occasionally cloudy skies, with a few localized heavy showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A light wind regime will persist across the Lesser Antilles, for the next few days. Weak unstable conditions and strong daytime heating will result in a few localized heavy showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms over the islands, during the forecast period.

Major Hurricane Kirk continues its northwestward movement away from our region. However, swells generated by Kirk are affecting portions of the Leeward Islands.

At 11:00 am today, the center of Hurricane Leslie was located near latitude 11.1 north, longitude 35.4 west. Leslie is moving toward the west-northwest near 7 mph or 11 km/h. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 80 mph or 130 km/h, with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is forecast by tonight, followed by weakening on Sunday. Leslie does not pose a threat to our region at this time.
