TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A light wind regime will persist across the Lesser Antilles, for the next couple of days. Moisture and instability over the region, will cause scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, during the next 24 hours.

At 11:00 am today, the center of Hurricane Leslie was located near latitude 16.4 north, longitude 41.2 west. Leslie is moving toward the northwest near 13 mph or 20 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 85 mph or 140 km/h, with higher gusts. A gradual weakening trend is forecast to begin today and continue through the week. Leslie does not pose a threat to our region at this time.

A tropical wave located over the eastern tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 9 mph or 15 km/h.
