At 11:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Erin was located near latitude 17.4 North, longitude 28.0 West or about 3080 miles east northeast of Saint Lucia. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph or 75 km/h with higher gusts. Erin is moving toward the west near 20 mph or 31 km/h, and this motion is expected to continue for the next several days.

A plume of Saharan dust haze is expected to cause a reduction in visibility and air quality across the region during the next few days.
