TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
The Atlantic High-Pressure System will maintain moderate to brisk easterly winds, stable conditions and locally rough seas across the region, during the next 24 hours.
A plume of Saharan dust haze will continue to reduce visibility and air quality over the Lesser Antilles during the next couple of days.
Showers and thunderstorms associated with a tropical wave located about 1000 miles or 1609 kilometers east of the Lesser Antilles, have become less organized. This system is expected to move into an unfavorable environment, and the development chances appear to be decreasing. Regardless of development, gusty winds, heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected by late Friday into Saturday across the Lesser Antilles.
Another tropical wave located a few hundred miles south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Conditions are forecast to be more conducive for some development, and a tropical depression could form late this week or this weekend. The system is expected to move west to west-northwest across the central Tropical Atlantic.
Interests in Saint Lucia and the rest of the region should closely monitor the progress of these systems.
