FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with a few scattered showers. Isolated thunderstorms are possible over the extreme southern portion of the region.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Low level moisture and instability over the region will cause a few scattered showers to develop mainly over the northern Windward and Leeward Islands during the forecast period.

Lingering moisture associated with a westward moving tropical wave will continue to cause some cloudiness, showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over the extreme southern portion of the region.

A tropical wave located several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h. This wave is expected to affect the region from late tomorrow into Friday.

A tropical wave along the coast of Africa is forecast to emerge over the eastern Atlantic later today. This wave has a chance of development during the next few days and could become a depression over the weekend or early next week.

...GABRIELLE STRENGTHENS OVER THE EASTERN ATLANTIC...

 At 5:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Storm Gabrielle was located near latitude 21.0 North, longitude 34.0 West. Gabrielle is moving toward the northwest near 9 mph or 15 km/h. This system is not expected to be a direct threat to the Lesser Antilles.
