… JERRY STILL STRENGTHENING…
At 5:00 pm today, the eye of Hurricane Jerry was located near latitude 17.5 North, longitude 55.8 West or about 395 miles or 640 kilometers east of the Leeward Islands. Jerry is moving toward the west-northwest near 17 mph or 28 km/h. A west-northwest to northwest motion at a decreasing forward speed is expected over the next few days. On the forecast track, the center of Jerry will move north of the northern Leeward Islands Friday, pass well north of Puerto Rico on Saturday and be well east-northeast of the southeastern Bahamas on Sunday. A tropical storm watch is in effect for the northern Leeward Islands from Barbuda northward to St. Eustatius.

Interests around the northern Leeward Islands should monitor the progress of Jerry. Hurricane Jerry pose no threat to Saint Lucia at this time.
A tropical wave located over the central tropical Atlantic has a low potential for development during the next few days. This wave is being closely monitored as it moves westward towards the Eastern Caribbean at 17 mph or 28 km/h.
