TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
The Atlantic High-Pressure System will generate light to moderate, easterly to northeasterly winds over the region during the next couple of days. Patches of clouds moving with the wind will cause a few showers over the region during the next 24 hours.
A plume of Saharan dust haze will continue to reduce visibility and air quality over the region during the forecast period.
At 5:00 pm today, the centre of Tropical Storm Erin was located near latitude 17.0 North, longitude 38.3 West or about 1496 miles east-northeast of Saint Lucia. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph or 75 km/h with higher gusts. Erin is moving towards the west near at 22 mph or 35 km/h and will likely become a hurricane by late Thursday.
