TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
The Atlantic High-Pressure System will generate light to moderate, easterly to northeasterly winds over the region during the next couple of days. Patches of clouds moving with the wind will cause a few showers over the region during the next 24 hours.

A plume of Saharan dust haze will continue to reduce visibility and air quality over the region during the forecast period.

At 5:00 pm today, the centre of Tropical Storm Erin was located near latitude 17.0 North, longitude 38.3 West or about 1496 miles east-northeast of Saint Lucia. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph or 75 km/h with higher gusts. Erin is moving towards the west near at 22 mph or 35 km/h and will likely become a hurricane by late Thursday. On the forecast track, the centre of Erin is expected to pass near the northern Leeward Islands over the weekend. Residents in the northern Leeward Islands should monitor the progress of Erin.
