TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
The Atlantic High-pressure system will maintain light to moderate easterly winds across the Lesser Antilles, during the forecast period.
Patches of low-level clouds enhanced by an upper-level trough system will cause some scattered showers over the region during the next 24 hours.
A tropical wave located over the central Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h. This wave is expected to affect our region from Saturday into Sunday.
At 5:00 am today, the centre of Tropical Storm Gonzalo was located near latitude 14.2 North, longitude 22.4 West, about 140 miles east-southeast of the Cabo Verde Islands. Gonzalo is moving toward the north-northwest near 9 mph or 15 km/h and is expected to remain over the far eastern tropical Atlantic. Based on current forecast tracks, Gonzalo is not expected to pose a threat our region.
