Partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers and possibly thunderstorms over the southern Windward Islands and areas further south. Elsewhere, partly cloudy with a few scattered showers.   

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Weak unstable conditions in the wake of a tropical wave coupled with the

Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone will continue to cause cloudiness and shower activity mainly over the southern portion of the Lesser Antilles during the next 24 hours.

..TROPICAL DEPRESSION TEN MOVING WEST NORTHWESTWARD AND EXPECTED TO STRENGTHEN…

 At 5:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Depression Ten was located near latitude 13.4 North, longitude 45.6 West or about 1110 miles or 1785 kilometers

East of the leeward islands. The depression is moving toward the west northwest near 10 mph or 17 km/h. This motion, with a faster forward speed is expected over the next few days. On this tract, the system will be near the northern leeward islands Thursday night or Friday. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph or 55 km/h with higher gusts. Strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days and this depression is expected to become a tropical storm tonight. The system is forecast to become a hurricane by the time it moves near the northern leeward islands. 

Interests in the Northern Leeward Islands should monitor the progress of this system.

A tropical wave located over the Eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 10 mph or 17 km/h.
