Patches of low level cloud drifting along the wind flow will cause a few showers over the region during the next 24 hours.

…… Tropical Storm Paulette ……

At 5:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Storm Paulette was located near latitude 20.5 degrees north, longitude 47.4 degrees west or about 1035 miles or 1665 kilometers east of the Northern Leeward Islands. Paulette is moving toward the west-northwest near 10 mph or 17 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph or 95 km/h with higher gusts.

…… Tropical Storm Rene……

At 5:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Storm Rene was located over the eastern tropical Atlantic near latitude 18.0 degrees north and longitude 32.7 degrees west. Rene is moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph or 20 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph or 65 km/h with higher gusts.

Both of these systems are forecast to remain over the open Atlantic Ocean and are not expected to pose a direct threat to the Lesser Antilles.

A tropical wave is forecast to emerge off the west coast of Africa tomorrow. This wave has a high chance of tropical cyclone development during the next five days.
