Fair skies becoming cloudy at times with some scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Moisture and instability trailing Hurricane Teddy is expected to produce some showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Lesser Antilles from tonight.

At 5:00 am today, the center of Hurricane Teddy was located near latitude 21.6 degrees north, longitude 55.4 degrees west or about 550 miles or 890 kilometers northeast of the Lesser Antilles. Teddy is moving toward the northwest near 12 mph or 19 km/h and this motion is expected to continue for the next few days. Maximum sustained winds are near 130 mph or 215 km/h with higher gusts.

Hurricane Teddy does not pose a direct threat to our region, however swells generated by this system will continue to affect the Lesser Antilles.

A tropical wave located over the central Tropical Atlantic is moving west northwestward at about 12 mph or 19 km/h. Environmental conditions are conducive for further development of this system. This tropical wave is expected to develop into a tropical depression or tropical storm in the next few days.

Another tropical wave, is forecast to move off the African coast by tomorrow. There is a chance of further development as this wave moves generally west northwest.
