…Tropical Depression Wilfred…

At 5:00 pm today, the centre of Tropical Depression Wilfred was located near latitude 15.9 degrees north, longitude 45.8 degrees west or about 1030 miles or 1660 kilometres east of the Lesser Antilles. Wilfred is moving toward the west-northwest near 20 mph or 31 km/h and this general motion should continue for the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph or 55 km/h with higher gusts. Wilfred should weaken to a remnant low or a trough of low pressure within a couple of days.

Tropical Depression Wilfred is not expected to pose a threat to our region.

A tropical wave located over the eastern tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h.
