FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Partly cloudy and hazy, occasionally becoming cloudy with some scattered showers

over the Leeward Islands. Further south, skies will be fair to partly cloudy and hazy with a few showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

An upper level trough and jet stream will maintain cloudy conditions with scattered showers over the northern half of the Lesser Antilles during the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, the Atlantic High Pressure system will cause generally dry conditions over the southern portion of the region, during the forecast period.

Saharan dust haze will continue to reduce visibility and air quality across the

Eastern Caribbean region for the next couple of days.

A tropical wave located over the central tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h. This wave is expected to begin affecting the region on Sunday night.

Another tropical wave located over the far eastern tropical Atlantic is also moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h.

Tropical cyclone formation is not expected over the tropical Atlantic during the next five days.

The alert level at the La Soufriere volcano in Saint Vincent remains at Orange.  Interests in Saint Lucia and the South-Eastern Caribbean region are advised to
