FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Partly cloudy and hazy, occasionally becoming cloudy with some scattered showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK 

Moist and unstable conditions ahead of an approaching tropical wave will cause some cloudy periods with scattered showers over the Eastern Caribbean region during the next 24 hours. This wave is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h and is expected to begin affecting the islands from late tomorrow into Sunday.  

Saharan dust haze will continue to cause a reduction in visibility and air quality over our region during the forecast period.

Another tropical wave located over the eastern tropical Atlantic is also moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h.

Tropical cyclone formation is not expected over the tropical Atlantic during the next five days.

The alert level at the La Soufriere volcano in Saint Vincent remains at Orange. Interests in Saint Lucia and the South-Eastern Caribbean region are advised to continue monitoring official sources for updates.
