FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Over the southern Windward Islands and areas further south, partly cloudy to cloudy at times with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Further north, fair to partly cloudy with a few showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK 

Moisture and instability ahead of a tropical wave located a few miles east of the Windward Islands, will generate occasional cloudiness, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly over the southern Windward Islands and areas further south during the next 24 hours. This wave is moving westward near 10 mph or 17 km/h and is expected to affect the region from late tonight into tomorrow. Further development of this system is unlikely at this time.

Two other tropical waves located over the central tropical Atlantic are moving westward near 12 mph or 19 km/h.

A strong tropical wave, just off the coast of Africa, is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h. Some development of this system is expected during the next five days and could develop into a tropical depression by early next week.

The alert level at the La Soufriere volcano in Saint Vincent remains at Orange. Interests in Saint Lucia and the South-Eastern Caribbean region are advised to continue monitoring official sources for updates.
