TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A weak tropical wave will continue to produce occasional showers over the lesser Antilles today. Following the passage of this tropical wave, a plume of Saharan dust haze is expected to cause a reduction in visibility and air quality over our region during the next few days.

A broad area of low pressure associated with another tropical wave located over the central Tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 20 mph or 31 km/h. This system is expected to affect the Lesser Antilles from Wednesday and has a medium chance of tropical cyclone formation over the next five days.

A third tropical wave located over the far eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 12 mph or 19 km/h.

The alert level at the La Soufriere volcano in Saint Vincent remains at Orange. Interests in Saint Lucia and the South-Eastern Caribbean region are advised to continue monitoring official sources for updates.
