FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Partly cloudy becoming cloudy at times with some scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms over the extreme southern Lesser Antilles. Elsewhere, Fair to partly cloudy, hazy and windy with a few showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

The Atlantic High Pressure system will generate moderate to brisk easterly winds across the Eastern Caribbean region during the next few days. Low level cloud patches drifting along this wind flow, will cause a few scattered showers over the region during the forecast period.

A weak tropical wave will cause some cloudy periods with showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms mainly over Trinidad and Tobago during the next 24 hours.

Two other tropical waves located over the eastern and far eastern Tropical Atlantic are moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h.

Tropical cyclone formation is not expected over the tropical Atlantic during the next 5 days.

The alert level at the La Soufriere volcano in Saint Vincent remains at Orange. Interests in Saint Lucia and the south-eastern Caribbean region are advised to continue monitoring official sources for updates.
